Northwest Plumbing & Heating Ltd is a family run heating and plumbing business based in Colne and led by Liam Hipgrave. We cover Lancashire and the surrounding towns, helping homeowners, landlords, and businesses with reliable heating support.
We are Gas Safe registered for both domestic and commercial work. Whether it is a routine boiler service, a fault to diagnose, or a full system installation, every job is carried out to the same standard of safety, quality, and care.
Alongside our heating work, we carry out Legionella risk assessments for domestic and commercial properties. You get a clear written report with practical recommendations, so you can meet your responsibilities with confidence.
Being owner-led means you deal with the same person from the first call to the final handover. We keep our pricing clear, our work tidy, and our communication simple. That is how we have built our reputation across the local area.

Liams company did a great job for us with no problems and now eradicated the problem we had in our bathroom. Joe knew what and where the source of the problem was and fixed the problem in about 45mins if that. The cost was more than reasonable too.The problem is no longer with us now and would recommend Northwest Plumbing& heating to anyone with any plumbing issues. Also the lads are so easy going and a great set of lads to talk too. Thanks so much most appreciated.

We initially hired Northwest Plumbing and Heating because they were the cheapest quote. They came out to replace our office heating boiler. They quoted the price over the phone before starting work. It was exactly what they said it would be without any surprises. They arrived on time, explained what they needed to do, were very thorough, working through an identified schedule. They worked quickly without any mess or noise. They were very busy when I booked, so we had to wait a few days. I was willing to wait because of the very good reviews they had.I would use them again and would recommend them to anyone needing a reliable plumber.

Yes. A large part of our work is commercial mechanical installation across the North West, and we cover domestic mechanical work too. We are set up to work alongside other trades on commercial sites, and to handle smaller domestic jobs with the same care.
We install threaded iron pipework without hot works, as well as crimped copper and stainless steel systems. Crimped connections are clean and quick to install, which keeps disruption on site to a minimum.
Yes. Our engineers are comfortable reading and working from technical drawings, so we can take on commercial mechanical packages and deliver them accurately to spec.
Yes. We are Gas Safe registered, CHAS accredited, and fully insured with £5m and £10m public liability cover, so we meet the requirements of most commercial sites.

Yes. If your boiler breaks down or you have no heating or hot water, get in touch and we'll do our best to get to you as quickly as possible.
Low pressure is one of the most common boiler issues we get called out for. It is often caused by a small leak somewhere in the system, a faulty pressure relief valve, or radiators that need bleeding. Give us a call and we can diagnose it quickly.
A straightforward like-for-like boiler swap usually takes around one day. A more complex installation, such as a system change or moving the boiler, may take a little longer. We always give you a clear timeframe before we start.
Yes, we service all major makes and models. Annual servicing keeps your boiler running efficiently, maintains your warranty, and helps catch small problems before they become expensive ones.
We cover Colne, Nelson, Burnley, Earby, Blackburn, Preston, and the surrounding areas across Lancashire. Not sure if we cover you? Just give us a call and we'll let you know.
Legionella risk assessments start from £300 plus VAT and are priced per assessment.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, any employer or person in control of premises, including landlords, has a legal duty to assess the risk of Legionella in their water systems. This includes offices, rental properties, care homes, and other commercial or residential premises.
There is no fixed legal frequency, but the HSE recommends reviewing your assessment whenever there is reason to believe it may no longer be valid, typically every two years, or sooner if there are significant changes to the property or water system.
For most residential and smaller commercial properties, the on-site inspection typically takes between one and two hours. We then provide you with a full written report and any recommendations.
Yes. Once the assessment is complete, we provide a full written risk assessment report documenting our findings, any identified risks, and recommended control measures. You can keep this on file to demonstrate compliance.
You receive a site risk assessment with practical notes and clear recommendations for the property.

We generally recommend an annual service to keep a system running efficiently, maintain performance, and catch small issues early. We can set up a routine that suits your property.
Yes. If your air conditioning is not working as it should, get in touch. We will diagnose the fault and give you a clear quote before carrying out any repair.
